Greetings, fellow geeks!

I thought I’d better post this on the off-chance I get lucky, but if anyone found a white plastic bag on Sunday 28th at MCM Expo/London Comic-Con (at the ExCel centre) with an Aeris (FF7) Bandai figure in it and some random postcards, I will pay a *handsome reward upon it’s safe return! Willing to travel to collect!

(Completely gutted when I got back to the car and realised it wasn’t there.)

“This moron is giving me everything.”

Loki is not this careless with words; he has a “silver tongue”; he is the God of mischief (I’m talking strictly in the Marvel!film universe here, btw.)

If he let a secret “slip”, I’m quite certain he meant to do so.

Everything he says, every lie he tells; they always come so easily to him. They sound like he’s rehearsed them a million times in his mind, just within the split second it took for him to come up with them.

He “lets” this vital information “slip” (in my opinion) to lead the do-gooding Avengers on; allowing him to escape and let his* army into Midgard; even to loose that final fight, because he is Loki, and his prize is much more valuable than just ruling over the people of Midgard**.

He’s tied up, muzzled and lead by Thor to Asgard at the end of the film, a supposed prisoner, but what none of the Avengers know is that he wants to return there! He’s had a lot of time to fully turn himself against his father (and possibly his brother..?) and I suspect he’s also under the ruling of someone, much higher up that the leader of the Chitauri…

We’ll see, anyway, but that’s basically my headcanon for the next Loki/Avengers film!

*I think the army was provided by who-ever was orchestrating the whole thing; using Loki as a messenger to the people of Asgard and the Chitauri as canon-fodder to try and prove a point to the Avengers on Earth that they are willing to send troops in and cause mass-destruction, even if they won’t win (or something similar!? We all know how highly bad-guys value their army troops! It’s not like they always, always out number the good-guy’s forces by at least 10 times and still always loose, right?)…

**Seriously, did no-one else think that “You were made to be ruled.” was just… Well, just a bit naff? Like, it didn’t seem like enough motivation. Looking into the psychology of Loki, you can pretty much tell he has certain issues but I don’t think ruling a planet as measly as Midgard would be enough for him. He’s already shown how little he thinks of humans by killing so many of them in his attacks (the infamous, “He killed 80 people in 2 days.” quote backs this up), and always berats them/insulting the ones Thor loves. So, then, why would he want to rule a race of “ants” (who would have no quarrel with his boot!) when he could “collaborate”*** with another villain and lord over his equals (or as close as you could get to his “equal”; he obviously doesn’t think he has any. He’s both a self-assured megalomaniac and a broken man; a God who no-one loves and who loves no-one, not fully… It must be a difficult place for him to be, but I certainly hope they expand on it in the next film because, just, Loki feels…)

***I also think Loki might be clever enough to double-bluff even the higher-up villain… I just haven’t figured out how that might work… Yet…

Sorry but the only thing that bugs me more than not sourcing is sourcing places like 9gag and places like that.

Just some insight into this for those who don’t know. 9gag steals content constantly! They take peoples work and watermark it with their logo and never give attribution for anything! They crop work as to remove peoples watermarks who are rightful owners of said work. They are dubious in every way shape and form. They are thieves of the highest caliber and plagiarists of the lowest common denominator so don’t support them whenever possible, which should be always.

Reblogging with the reason as to why as given by the Scott. Why reblog again? Because I keep seeing this shit on my dash. Don’t make me unfollow people I like because they keep posting shit from 9GAG

REBLOGGING cause its needs to been seen as often as possible by as many people as possible so this shit stops. Post 9gag and I shitcan ya, NO EXCEPTIONS. Put your money where your mouth is even if it is only something as seemingly inconsequential as a reblog, don’t reblog or support 9gag ever!

I agree to most of the points above, however the reason why most pictures on 9GAG aren’t sourced is because the uploader couldn’t be bothered to (or just didn’t include) the source when initially uploading the image; it’s not 9GAG that actively remove the source/watermarks (as far as my own experience has taught me; I could be wrong, but my time spent on that site tells me that I’m not).

I, personally, don’t upload anything unless I either know, or can find, it’s source and I often spend a lot of time searching for an original post/image, when I know the one I’ve seen isn’t the original. In the case of Tumblr, I always want to reblog the original post, not a re-post someone has made (because they either want the credit themselves, or they just haven’t done their research to see if it’s already been posted). It also makes me very angry when I know someone has posted something, without crediting the creator/source, when I know that it wouldn’t have taken more than a 2 second check on Google to find it. Or when it’s credited to another image-sharing website, when the original source is actually displayed in the image itself! (Oh yes, I’m sure we’ve all seen that happen!)

The one redeeming factor of 9GAG (and, again, I do agree with the above points; them putting their watermark on every single picture is something that frustrates me to no end) is that you can (and I have) found a hell of a lot of amazing original content, by being directed to Tumblr or DeviantART (etc) which I wouldn’t have found out about, had I not been browsing images on that site.

When you upload to 9GAG (and all image-sharing sites I’ve checked for this feature so far) there is a very clear (not hidden or obscured) box labelled “Via / Source (recommend)” just underneath what tags you’re putting into it… Please remember that people are responsible for their own actions; it’s when they disassociate themselves from those actions that it’s a real threat, I think.

I don’t actually use 9GAG often any more (not for political reasons; I’m mainly just sick of all the smart-alec comments on every bloody picture, as it almost always ends in people having a go at each other over the web for no apparent reason!) but please don’t swear off something that does bring good (seriously, there’s some great stuff to be found there!) just because the majority of the people who use it are inconsiderate or ignorant to online/art-based etiquette…

If we all did that, I literally don’t think we’d be able to use any website!

This cut scene also explains why the coronation scene in the movie was the way it was (Odin DID look pissed at Thor and the entrance was definitely glorified—though I thought that part was normal for Asgardian coronations…guess not!).

Then notice all the brotherly feels coming from Loki (or maybe those lines are said out of bitterness? I can’t tell…it could go either way) and weep for what’s been tossed aside out of anger and jealousy (or weep for the pain that Loki’s clearly been expressing all these years and that no one has noticed/cared about). ;__;

“Sif is a flaming cunt” anyone? :P And yes, Loki’s damaged, but he’s not 100% blameless for his actions.

There are many sides to him; the trickster, the manipulator, the god who kills for fun and the hurt son and brother… It’s all these things (and more) that make him so interesting…

Why would anyone even want to turn him into a sniveling wreck of a man, who’s single solitary goal in life is to get a goddamn kawaii hug from his biiiig bruvva (omg so kyute 4eva<3<3<3) and then go eat some ice-cream and live happily ever after? Where’s the reality in that!
